Sound designer at SEGA Enterprises starting in 1978, with games like Zaxxon and Congo Bongo under his belt. He also wrote the name entry and goal jingles for Hang-On.
Beginning with Up'n Down in 1983, he started to also design games, the most famous of which were Flicky and Fantasy Zone. In 1993 he instead became a producer for their console games rather than working on arcade games as before.
He established Artoon in 1999 and has since been president of it and its successor Arzest, as well as AQ Interactive and its subsidiaries.
